Your San Diego vacation won’t be complete without a visit to the world famous SeaWorld San Diego. What began as a small aquarium with a couple of dolphins and sea lions has expanded into one of the most popular marine zoological parks in the world. Families and friends come from all over the world to enjoy the drenching rides, fascinating marine life, and awe-inspiring shows. Shamu: Believe, which is named for the first orca that performed at SeaWorld, features six adult orcas interacting with their trainers. Other popular spectacles include the comedic sea lions Clyde and Seamore, the underwater Shark Encounter, and Pacific Point where guests can feed the seals and sea lions twice daily. The Bahia Hotel is located near SeaWorld San Diego, one of the most popular family attractions in the city. SeaWorld is located less than five minutes away from the hotel.
The Bahia is situated on a peninsula on the west shore of Mission Bay, the resort and lodgings opening up onto beautiful Mission Bay Park. Our Mission Bay hotel accommodations are within easy walking and driving distance of all the major attractions that the Park has to offer. For larger excursions, visit SeaWorld or Belmont Park. For milder recreational fare, head to Mission Bay Park’s bike and walk paths, basketball courts, and playgrounds for children. It’s one of San Diego’s most fun-filled spots to visit.
If local wildlife interests you, visit Mission Bay for some wonderful opportunities to see several wildlife preserves. Professional and amateur bird watchers have an excellent opportunity to observe a plethora of sea birds including the rare and federally protected Least Tern, the Brown Pelican, and the Light-footed Clapper Rail.
Enjoy the local fare at our Mission Bay hotel
Mission Bay Park, the West Coast’s largest aquatic man-made park, covers over 4,000 acres and offers a wide range of recreational activities and water sports.
