About Our Presenter
Bobby Mattos, AICA is a 5th generation Memorialist from Bras and Mattos Monument Company est. 1897 in Hayward California. He was raised in the business but began working full time in the industry after earning his B.A. in History at California State University Sacramento in 2003. Like many others in the monument industry, he sells, designs and does just about anything else needed at his shop on a daily basis. He has owned and operated his own stone carving gallery, instructed and taught creative stone carving technique seminars at several conventions and workshops across the country. He has instructed at Rock Camp, and continues to teach stone carving at The School of Hard Rocks with business partner and founder Charlie Hunt (Hunt Memorials) of Nashville Tennessee.

Lisa Mudgett is the Co-Owner / Manager at Mudgett's Monuments, a 3rd generation monument retailer. She has been working in the industry, since early 2013, about 4 years. Her previous experience includes 17 years being a licensed Office Manager, at a financial advisor's office, with three staff positions and two advisors. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree, in Business, from Bowling Green State University, with a specialty in Human Resources Management. Over the last four years, she has learned the many aspects of the retail monument industry and how to manage the day to day needs of the business and the staff. She has also had the advantage of learning from her husband, who has been working in the industry, since he was a teenager. MBNA has been an invaluable resource as her and her husband transitioned to the ownership roll. She is excited to share how the MBNA has helped in her transition to Monument Retailer Owner and Manager. Lisa has been married 21 years to Reid and has two children; Allison (19) and Josh (16). She spends her time enjoying her son's soccer games and her daughter's theater shows. She also likes to relax by reading a book, going on family vacations and spending time with family and friends.

James Perry is the Association Executive and has been a major part of MBNA since 2008. His day to day responsibilities include answering consumer and prospective member questions, meeting facilitation for committees, project management, promotion, event planning and social media management. Along with support staff, James pretty much handles the day to day operations of the association.

Before entering association management, James was a radio DJ and promotions manager for a rock station in Dayton, OH and spent his summers doing Improv Theater. As a born story teller, he's found a strong kinship with memorialist industry and looks forward to it growing every year!

CEU Credits
The MBNA Certification Program was developed as a result of a three-year study program by some of the industry's most recognized leaders. It raises the professional standards to those engaged in the memorialization industry and awards the top level of competence and ethical conduct. The MBNA Certified Memorialist® (CM) designation is the highest honor of professional achievement available in the memorial industry. Certification is awarded to individuals, not a firm as a whole. Both Members and non-members of MBNA can apply to become a CM.

Requirements to earn the “Certified Memorialist”® designation under the MBNA Certification Program are divided between successful completion of the examination, which is based upon material in the Certification Manual, and the accumulation of points awarded for participation in the specific activities listed below. To achieve initial certification, a minimum of 50 points must be accumulated; individuals have a maximum of 5 years immediately preceding application for certification during which to accumulate the required points.

To maintain the “Certified Memorialist”® designation under the MBNA Certification Program, an individual must earn a minimum of 30 points in these categories over a period of 3 years. Recertification must be made 3 years from the last designated certification.

This program has been approved for one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) towards initial or recertification as a CM®.What does my registration include?
Your registration includes long-distance charges for the audio portion and log-in to the video presentation. Once logged in, all handouts are downloadable prior to the start of the webinar. MBUniversity webinars also include one hour/unit of Continuing Education.
